In the present study, Pušnik et al. investigated whether the XBB.1.5-adapted booster can overcome the persistent imprinting of SARS-CoV-2 immunity by wild-type based vaccines. The findings demonstrate increased plasma neutralization against the homologous variant following the booster vaccination. Formation of de novo humoral response against the mutated epitopes of XBB.1.5 variant's surface proteins was observed in 3/20 individuals. The booster vaccination had no significant effect on T-cell response.

Virology Unit, Viral Hepatitis Laboratory, Institut Pasteur du Maroc, 1 Place Louis Pasteur, Casablanca, 20360, Morocco.

To assess the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 booster dose on the immune response against COVID-19, we conducted a cross-sectional study in the Casablanca-Settat region of Morocco. The study included 2,802 participants from 16 provinces, all of whom had received three doses of a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. IgG antibodies targeting the S1 RBD subunit of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein were quantified using the SARS-CoV-2 IgG II Quant assay and measured on the Abbott Architect i2000SR instrument.

Background/objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic has revolutionized vaccine production and compelled a massive global vaccination campaign. This study aimed to estimate the positivity and levels of SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies acquired due to vaccination and infection in the academic population of a Portuguese university.

Methods: Blood samples were collected and analyzed through the ELISA methodology, and statistical analysis was performed.

Background: Immunization is the process of administering a vaccine to stimulate the development of immunity against an infectious agent, with the primary goal of preventing the illness that the infection causes. The authors aim to examine determinants of vaccination coverage among Somali children.

Methods: The authors used secondary data from the Somali Demographic Health Survey (SDHS)-2020.

Introduction: Repeated COVID-19 booster vaccination was recommended in healthcare workers (HCWs) to maintain protection. We measured the relative vaccine effectiveness (rVE) of the second booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine compared to the first booster, against laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection in HCWs.

Methods: In a prospective cohort study among HCWs from 12 European hospitals, we collected nasopharyngeal or saliva samples at enrolment and during weekly/fortnightly follow-up between October 2022 and May 2023.
