Draft genome sequence of sp. CC302I with non-canonical biosynthetic gene clusters for codon-readthrough activity.

Microbiol Resour Announc

January 2025

Industrial Genomics Laboratory, FEMSA Biotechnolgy Center, School of Engineering and Sciences, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey, México.

sp. CC302I was isolated from a highly oligothrophic environment. High-throughput screening shows high codon-readthrough activity for the isolate with no canonical biosynthetic gene cluster responsible.

Soil bacteria were isolated from the Tar Creek Superfund site in the presence of cadmium. Eight of these strains belong to the genus , whereas one strain belongs to the genus . Here, we report drafts of their genome sequences and highlight cadmium-resistance genes required in an exceptionally contaminated environment.

Introduction: Genomic medicine has features that make it preference sensitive and amenable to model-based health economic evaluation. Preferences of patients, caregivers, and clinicians related to the uptake and delivery of genomic medicine technologies and services that are not captured in health state utility weights can affect the intervention's cost-effectiveness and budget impact. However, there is currently no established or agreed-on approach for integrating preference information into economic evaluations.

We identified seven distinct coronaviruses (CoVs) in bats from Brazil, classified into 229E-related (Alpha-CoV), Nobecovirus, Sarbecovirus, and Merbecovirus (Beta-CoV), including one closely related to MERS-like CoV with 82.8% genome coverage. To accomplish this, we screened 423 oral and rectal swabs from 16 different bat species using molecular assays, RNA sequencing, and evolutionary analysis.
