Purpose: The study evaluated the effects of elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) therapy in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF) and a clinical history of Aspergillus fumigatus (AF) infection.
Methods: This prospective cohort study included pwCF who initiated ETI therapy and had received antifungal treatment in the preceding five years due to allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA group) or other AF-related clinical manifestations (AF group). A control group of pwCF with no prior respiratory cultures positive for AF was also included.

The formation of following the double ionization of small organic compounds via a roaming mechanism, which involves the generation of H and subsequent proton abstraction, has recently garnered significant attention. Nonetheless, a cohesive model explaining trends in the yield of characterizing these unimolecular reactions is yet to be established. We report yield and femtosecond time-resolved measurements following the strong-field double ionization of CHX molecules, where X = OD, Cl, NCS, CN, SCN, and I.

The seminal work of Kubo and Ando (Math Ann 246:205-224, 1979/80) provided us with an axiomatic approach to means of positive operators. As most of their axioms are algebraic in nature, this approach has a clear algebraic flavour. On the other hand, it is highly natural to take the geomeric viewpoint and consider a distance (understood in a broad sense) on the cone of positive operators, and define the mean of positive operators by an appropriate notion of the center of mass.

Introduction: Previous studies suggest respirable crystalline silica (RCS) is an important driver of resurgent pneumoconiosis among US coal miners. Although greater attention has been focused on dust exposures in underground coal miners, surface miners are also at risk of severe disease. This study explores RCS exposure in this population.

The shear strength and resistance of granular materials are critical indicators in geotechnical engineering and infrastructure construction. Both sliding and rotation influence the energy evolution of soil granular motion during shear. To examine the effects of particle rotation on shear damage and energy evolution in granular systems, we first describe the transformation of irregularly shaped particles into regular shapes via geometrical parameters, ensuring the invariance of energy density and density.
