The literature on the epistemology of ignorance already discusses how certain forms of discrimination, such as racism and sexism, are perpetuated by the ignorance of individuals and groups. However, little attention has been given to how speciesism-a form of discrimination on the basis of species membership-is sustained through ignorance Of the few animal ethicists who explicitly discuss ignorance, none have related this concept to speciesism as a form of discrimination. However, it is crucial to explore this connection, I argue, as ignorance is both an integral part of the injustice done to animals as well as an obstacle to improving their treatment.

Conscientious objection is a critical topic that has been sparsely discussed from a global health perspective, despite its special relevance to our inherently diverse field. In this Analysis paper, we argue that blanket prohibitions of a specific type of non-discriminatory conscientious objection are unjustified in the global health context. We begin both by introducing a nuanced account of conscience that is grounded in moral psychology and by providing an overview of discriminatory and non-discriminatory forms of objection.

The first 16 weeks postpartum are particularly challenging for a new mother and are associated with an elevated risk of experiencing psychological distress. Guilt and shame have been identified as significant predictors of other forms of psychological distress, such as anxiety and depression. However, guilt and shame are poorly distinguished in pre-existing literature.

Spinal cord sarcoidosis, an uncommon manifestation of neurosarcoidosis, presents diagnostic and therapeutic challenges because the condition is rare and has diverse clinical manifestations that can mimic other conditions such as multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder. A middle-aged African American female with a history of idiopathic intracranial hypertension and hydrocephalus with ventriculoperitoneal shunt presented with progressive, predominantly left-sided gait instability, weakness, and paresthesia. Cerebrospinal fluid showed lymphocytosis, red blood cells, elevated oligoclonal bands, and elevated kappa free light chains, concerning for multiple sclerosis.

These insights will help update existing tools and create new ones to capture moral distress better, guiding the development and implementation of strategies to support nurses in addressing this challenge.
Methods: Whittemore and Knafl's integrative review method was employed to guide a systematic search for literature in three databases (EBSCO Medline, CINAHL, and PubMed).
