Objective: Remote forms of psychotherapy became more common during the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing the importance of understanding how technological factors might affect remote treatment. Past research on other modes of communication suggests that perceptions can be influenced when the audiovisual quality of online communication is distorted. The aim of the current research was to examine the potential influence of visual or audio distortions during online therapy.
Method: 263 participants judged the interpersonal characteristics and skill of a psychotherapist after viewing segments of treatment sessions in either a video or audio-only format and where the presentation was either clear or distorted.
Results: Contrary to expectations, participants who viewed a poorer quality version of a therapy segment perceived the therapist to have more positive interpersonal characteristics than those who saw a segment of higher quality. There was no reliable difference in perception of the therapist's skill as a function of segment quality.
Conclusion: The findings from the study suggest that perceptions of a therapist are not adversely affected if the video or audio quality of a remote therapy session is less than ideal. Therefore, these technical aspects of online treatment may not need to be a top concern.

Background: Usefulness of hysteroscopic metroplasty to improve reproductive outcomes is controversial and debated among reproductive specialists and, consequently, patients.
Methods: We performed a cross-sectional analysis to assess the quality, reliability, and level of misinformation in YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok videos about hysteroscopic metroplasty. Videos on each social network retrieved using "hysteroscopy" and "septate uterus" or "uterine septum" as keywords were assessed using Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for audio-visual (PEMAT A/V) content, the modified DISCERN (mDISCERN), Global Quality Scale (GQS), Video Information and Quality Index (VIQI) and Misinformation assessment.

Purpose: We investigate the extent to which automated audiovisual metrics extracted during an affect production task show statistically significant differences between a cohort of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and typically developing controls.
Method: Forty children with ASD and 21 neurotypical controls interacted with a multimodal conversational platform with a virtual agent, Tina, who guided them through tasks prompting facial and vocal communication of four emotions-happy, angry, sad, and afraid-under conditions of high and low verbal and social cognitive task demands.
Results: Individuals with ASD exhibited greater standard deviation of the fundamental frequency of the voice with the minima and maxima of the pitch contour occurring at an earlier time point as compared to controls.

Background: Brain tumor in children can induce hemianopia, a loss of conscious vision, profoundly impacting their development and quality of life, yet no effective intervention exists for this pediatric population. This study aimed to explore the feasibility, safety, and potential effectiveness of a home-based audiovisual stimulation in immersive virtual-reality (3D-MOT-IVR) to improve visual function and functional vision.
Methods: In a phase 2a, open-labeled, nonrandomized, single-arm study, conducted from July 2022 to October 2023 (NCT05065268), 10 children and adolescents with stable hemianopia were enrolled to perform 20-min sessions of 3D-MOT-IVR every other day for six weeks from home.
