This paper explores the potential of a Virtual Reality (VR) intervention to facilitate communication about sensitive topics between adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their special education teachers. The VR intervention was developed in collaboration with Special education teachers, incorporating feedback from a design workshop to create a VR application featuring activities like basketball, air hockey, drawing, and avatar customization. The VR application was evaluated through two sessions between one autistic adolescent and a special education teacher at a residential home for autistic adolescents. The results indicate that VR has the potential to be used as a space for sensitive conversation between autistic individuals and their special education teachers.

Background: Pathogenic or null mutations in WRN helicase is a cause of premature aging disease Werner syndrome (WS). WRN is known to protect somatic cells including adult stem cells from premature senescence. Loss of WRN in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) not only drives the cells to premature senescence but also significantly impairs the function of the stem cells in tissue repair or regeneration.

Vibrio anguillarum is a pathogen responsible for vibriosis in aquaculture animals. The formation of bacterial biofilm contributes to infections and increases resistance to antibiotics. Tryptophanase and its substrate tryptophan have been recognized as signal molecules regulating bacterial biofilm formation.

Background: To explore the utility of general movements assessment as a predictive tool of the neurological outcome in term-born infants with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) at ages six and 12 months.
Methods: This prospective observational study was conducted for 18 months (August 2018 to December 2019). Term-born newborns with HIE were included.
Unlabelled: We investigated the impact of participation in post-secondary university education (PSE) on the academic knowledge of adult students with severe intellectual disability and extensive support needs (SIDESN) vs. a similar group of controls who did not participate in PSE. We also examined whether the PSE would result in a "near transfer" to basic crystallized (facts and information) and fluid (problems involving executive functions and working memory) cognitive abilities, the contribution of background characteristics and crystallized and fluid abilities to their academic knowledge, semantic fluency and temporal relations.

Objective: To investigate the association between ambient coarse particulate matter (PM) pollution and risk of acute schizophrenia episodes.
Methods: A time-stratified case-crossover study with a two-stage analytical approach was conducted to investigate the association between ambient PM pollution and schizophrenia admissions (an indicator for acute schizophrenia episodes) across 259 Chinese cities of prefecture-level or above during 2013-2017. A conditional logistic regression model was constructed to estimate city-specific changes in hospital admissions for schizophrenia associated with per interquartile range (IQR) increase in ambient PM, and the overall associations were obtained by pooling the city-specific associations using the random-effects model.
