Nitric oxide synthases (NOS) are enzymes responsible for the cellular production of nitric oxide (NO), a highly reactive signaling molecule involved in important physiological and pathological processes. Given its remarkable capacity to diffuse across membranes, NO cannot be stored inside cells and thus requires multiple controlling mechanisms to regulate its biological functions. In particular, the regulation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) activity has been shown to be crucial in vascular homeostasis, primarily affecting cardiovascular disease and other pathophysiological processes of importance for human health.

Unlabelled: Education in older adults is a powerful tool for transforming themselves and their environment; through it, it is possible to change beliefs and attitudes that allow for deep and meaningful learning, enabling this age group to transmit what they have learned to their peers.
Aim: To describe the perceived benefits six months after completing the Senior-FITT Peer Instructors Diploma, a pioneering virtual educational program in Chile.
Materials And Methods: A qualitative study was conducted based on a theoretical, methodological approach that derives from grounded theory.

Anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery (AAOCA) is a rare congenital anomaly with a large spectrum of anatomical variations. Selective engagement of an AAOCA can present challenges during cardiac catheterization. A comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of major AAOCA can effectively assist operators for selecting and maneuvering catheters.

Membrane potential is essential in biological signaling and homeostasis maintained by voltage-sensitive membrane proteins. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations incorporating membrane potentials have been extensively used to study the structures and functions of ion channels and protein pores. They can also be beneficial in designing and characterizing artificial ion channels and pores, which will guide further amino acid sequence optimization through comparison between the predicted models and experimental data.

Antibiotics, celebrated as some of the most significant pharmaceutical breakthroughs in medical history, are capable of eliminating or inhibiting bacterial growth, offering a primary defense against a wide array of bacterial infections. However, the rise in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), driven by the widespread use of antibiotics, has evolved into a widespread and ominous threat to global public health. Thus, the creation of efficient methods for detecting resistance genes and antibiotics is imperative for ensuring food safety and safeguarding human health.
