Equation of state and universal solid phase of one-dimensional dipolar fluids.

Macroscopic and structural properties of one-dimensional (1D) dipolar fluids are investigated theoretically. The equation of state is fully explored by means of analytical limiting laws, integral equations and corroborating Monte Carlo simulations. An interesting mapping with the Tonks gas (i.e. hard rods) is established at strong coupling. Crucially, we report a novel solid phase characterized by aof the pair distribution function whose range extends with increasing coupling. This discovery provides a clarified view in 1D systems and open new routes to explore theoretically as well as experimentally.

Aging and chronic inflammation are associated with overabundant myeloid-primed multipotent progenitors (MPPs) amongst hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs). While HSC differentiation bias has been considered a primary cause of myeloid bias, whether it is sufficient has not been quantitatively evaluated. Here, we analyzed bone marrow data from the IκB- (Nfkbia+/-Nfkbib-/-Nfkbie-/-) mouse model of inflammation with elevated NFκB activity, which shows increased myeloid-biased MPPs.

Electronic spectra for OThF have been recorded using fluorescence excitation and two-photon resonantly enhanced ionization techniques. Multiple vibronic bands were observed in the 340-460 nm range. Dispersed fluorescence spectra provided ground state vibrational constants and evidence of extensive vibronic state mixing at higher excitation energies.

Antiretroviral therapy (ART) use and HIV suppression among people living with HIV (PLHIV) are critical for HIV control and prevention. Extreme restrictions on movement early during the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda may have impeded the ability to initiate and sustain access to and use of ART. From our stepped-wedge cluster-randomized trial of an integrated PrEP and ART intervention for HIV-serodifferent couples at 12 ART clinics in Uganda, we identified participants who enrolled and had a 6-month post-ART initiation viral load measured before the beginning of the first COVID-19 lockdown (Period 1), participants whose enrollment and 6-month viral load measurement straddled pre-COVID and COVID lockdown times (Period 2), and participants whose enrollment and 6-month viral load were quantified entirely during COVID-19 (Period 3).
