Striatal cholinergic interneurons (CINs) activate nicotinic acetylcholine receptors on dopamine axons to extend the range of dopamine release. Here we show that synchronous activation of CINs induces and extends the range of local serotonin release via a similar mechanism. This process is exaggerated in the hypercholinergic striatum of a mouse model of OCD-like behavior, implicating CINs as critical regulators of serotonin levels in the healthy and pathological striatum.

Electromyogram (EMG) has been a fundamental approach for prosthetic hand control. However it is limited by the functionality of residual muscles and muscle fatigue. Currently, exploring temporal shifts in brain networks and accurately classifying noninvasive electroencephalogram (EEG) for prosthetic hand control remains challenging.

In this work, bimetallic organic frameworks NH-MOFs(Fe, Ti) with different Fe/Ti molar ratios were prepared by a hydrothermal method for the synchronous redox transformation of Cr(VI) and As(III). These results showed that NH-MIL-125(Ti) was less effective in the photocatalytic removal of Cr(VI), whereas NH-MIL-88B(Fe) was less effective in the photocatalytic oxidative removal of As(III). Due to the introduction of Fe, the photocatalytic reduction removal of Cr(VI) (23.

Intracellular electrophysiology is essential in neuroscience, cardiology, and pharmacology for studying cells' electrical properties. Traditional methods like patch-clamp are precise but low-throughput and invasive. Nanoelectrode Arrays (NEAs) offer a promising alternative by enabling simultaneous intracellular and extracellular action potential (iAP and eAP) recordings with high throughput.

Introduction: Perceived groove, a complex and integrated musical characteristic, is considered a core factor in inducing synchronization between movement and music. This study aimed to employ functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to explore the effective connectivity (EC) changes among brain regions during cycling activities under different perceived groove conditions.
Methods: In a randomized crossover design, 18 university students performed 3-min cycling tasks under high (HG) and low (LG) perceived groove music conditions.

In mice, naturally occurring and induced mutations in the suppressor of cytokine signaling-2 () gene are associated with a high growth phenotype characterized by rapid post-weaning weight gain and 30-50% heavier mature body weight. In this work, we demonstrate an electroporation-based method of producing knock-out (KO) sheep. Electroporation of dual-guide CRISPR-Cas9 ribonucleoprotein complexes targeting was performed 6 h post-fertilization in sheep zygotes.
