Besides weekly dosing, other potential pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic advantages of rezafungin are its good penetration into anatomically challenging sites and a potentially reduced probability of local resistance promotion, making it an attractive option also for deep-seated infections that could warrant dedicated clinical investigation.
