Published: February 2024

The study aimed to examine the relationship among professional growth-need strength, care-task characteristics, critical thinking, and holistic nursing competencies after a care-task design and clinical reasoning program intervention in nursing students. This study used a longitudinal study design. The study was conducted from August 12, 2019 to July 30, 2020. Participants were thirdyear nursing students of a medical university. Data were collected by questionnaires at three time points. Structural equation modeling was used to examine the relationship among all measures variables. A total of 91 students participated in the study. The results show that growth-need strength had a significant positive effect on caretask characteristic and critical thinking and a nonsignificant effect on holistic nursing competencies. Care-task characteristics, however, had a significant positive effect on critical thinking, resulting in improvement in holistic nursing competencies. It is worth noting that the moderating effect of growth-need strength on care-task characteristics and nursing competence relationships could not be established. Our findings suggest the importance of improving students' perceived care-task characteristics through an objective structured clinical examination and, at the same time, promoting students' critical thinking and improving their professional abilities.

Dual-phase (DP) steel has been widely used in automotive steel plates with a balance of excellent strength and ductility. Grain refinement in DP steel is important to improve the properties further; however, the factors affecting grain growth need to be well understood. The remaining problem is that acquiring data through experiments is still time-consuming and difficult to evaluate quantitatively.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how supervisor's mental state and behavior choice affect the relationship between employees' strong growth need (GNS) and their innovation performance. Using 210 sets of supervisor-subordinate dyads data from two-wave survey, this research reveals that GNS has a significant positive effect on innovation performance, and leader-member exchange (LMX) mediates the effect of GNS on innovation performance. Supervisor perceived status threat moderates the relationship between GNS and LMX, such that this relationship gets weaker for supervisors with higher perceived status threat.

Based on the antecedent variable (playfulness personality) and the outcome variable (creative deviance) on the individual level, we introduce mediating variables (positive impression management motivation and harmonious innovation passion), integrate moderating variables (employee growth need strength and professional mission sense) to construct the conceptual model and theoretical framework of the influence mechanism of playfulness personality on creative deviance of employees. Based on the questionnaire survey data of employees in high-tech enterprises, this study adopts the nonparametric percentile Bootstrap method based on deviation correction to empirically discuss the influence mechanism of employee playfulness personality on employee creative deviance. The empirical analysis results show that employee playfulness personality has a significant positive influence on employee creative deviance.

Benevolent leadership is generally considered to be beneficial for work initiative. However, based on social exchange theory, this paper explores an inverted U-shaped relationship between benevolent leadership and work initiative. Using a multilevel structural equation model that analyzed the data from 596 employees and 139 supervisors in multiple technology companies, our findings show that benevolent leadership had an indirect, negative curvilinear relationship with work initiative work engagement at both the individual and team levels.
