Disease networks offer a potential road map of connections between diseases. Several studies have created disease networks where diseases are connected either based on shared genes or Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) associations. However, it is still unclear to which degree SNP-based networks map to empirical, co-observed diseases within a different, general, adult study population spanning over a long time period.

Although craniopharyngiomas are rare benign brain tumors primarily managed by surgery, they are often burdened by a poor prognosis due to tumor recurrence and long-term morbidity. In recent years, BRAF-targeted therapy has been promising, showing potential as an adjuvant or neoadjuvant approach. Therefore, we aim to develop and validate a radiomics nomogram for preoperative prediction of BRAF mutation in craniopharyngiomas.

d-Allulose 3-epimerase (DAEase) derived from has excellent properties in the catalytic production of d-allulose, a rare sugar with unique biological functions. However, the industrial application of DAEase (Cb-DAEase) for d-allulose production is hindered by its low enzyme activity, poor long-term thermostability, and pH tolerance. In this study, we identified potential noncatalytic residues in Cb-DAEase using methods such as proline substitution, surface charge engineering, and surface residue prediction.

Surgical management of feline extra-hepatic biliary obstruction (EHBO) has poor survival rates with few prognostic factors reported in the literature. The etiology and clinical findings of feline EHBO and their influence on short-(2 weeks-6 months) and long-term (>6 months) survival and prognosis were examined in an observational clinical retrospective study of 26 client-owned cats undergoing surgery for biliary obstruction at one institution between 2012 and 2020. The etiology of EHBO was determined in 21/26 cats, which included inflammatory causes (14/21), neoplastic causes (6/21), and a duodenal foreign body (1/21).
