This study investigates lead-free organic-inorganic hybrids (CNH)[BiCl] () and (CNH)[BiBr] (), focusing on their structural, dielectric, ferroelectric, and optical properties. Both compounds exhibit paraelectric () to ferroelectric () phase transitions (PTs) at 230/233 K and 228/229 K, respectively, transitioning from orthorhombic () to monoclinic (2) phases, with distorted [BiX] octahedra forming 1D chains. Quasielastic neutron scattering and solid-state H NMR studies reveal the localized motion of azetidinium cations. Dielectric measurements of and show step-like permittivity changes by 11-12 units post-transition → , demonstrating reversible switching behavior. Absorption studies reveal band gaps of 3.24 eV for and 2.76 eV for , classifying them as insulators. Luminescence spectra at 77K display 578 nm () and 708 nm () emissions, attributed to P → S transitions. Both compounds demonstrate stable second harmonic generation (SHG) switching of the - type. The switching performance is evaluated over multiple thermal cycles using the metric, which decreases with increasing temperature change rate and indicates that 's SHG switching is approximately 30% faster than that of .

The link between the cognitive effort of word processing and the eye movement patterns elicited by that word is well established in psycholinguistic research using eye tracking. Yet less evidence or consensus exists regarding whether the same link exists between complexity linguistic complexity measures of a sentence or passage, and eye movements registered at the sentence or passage level. This paper focuses on "global" measures of syntactic and lexical complexity, i.

Natural pigments, or natural colorants, are frequently utilized in the food industry due to their diverse functional and nutritional attributes. Beyond their color properties, these pigments possess several biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibacterial, and neuroprotective effects, as well as benefits for eye health. This review aims to provide a timely overview of the potential of natural pigments in the pharmaceutical, medical, and food industries.

Significance: Accurate values of skin optical properties are essential for developing reliable computational models and optimizing optical imaging systems. However, published values show a large variability due to a variety of factors, including differences in sample collection, preparation, experimental methodology, and analysis.

Aim: We aim to explore the influence of storage conditions on the optical properties of the excised skin from 400 to 1100 nm.

The misuse and uncontrolled release of pharmaceuticals into water bodies lead to environmental challenges and the development of resistance, thereby reducing their effectiveness. To mitigate these problems, it is essential to identify pharmaceuticals in water sources and eliminate them prior to human use. This study presents the designing of a novel nanosensor for the detection of the antibiotic Cefoperazone Sodium Sulbactam Sodium (CSSS).

In this study, the effect of feedstock concentration on the synthesis of WO nanostructures in a one-step hydrothermal process was investigated. According to our experiments, when titrating aqueous NaWO·2HO with HCl solutions of different concentrations to a constant pH of 1.5, after identical hydrothermal treatments at 180 °C, the morphology, crystal size and phase composition as well as the optical properties of the products could be tuned.
