Lack of specific guidelines in the literature renders management of radial longitudinal deficiency (RLD) exceedingly diverse. This diversity in treatment approaches can lead to variability in outcomes and pose a challenge in determining the most effective interventions for each individual case of RLD. Surgeons must carefully consider the unique characteristics and needs of each patient when developing a treatment plan for this complex condition. Around 40% of cases are linked to syndromes like Holt-Oram syndrome, thrombocytopenia absent radius (TAR) syndrome, Fanconi anaemia and VACTERL. Hand surgeons must be knowledgeable about these conditions, as they may be the first to identify these syndromes in children. Associated elbow stiffness can also be a crucial factor in treatment decision-making. Although this condition has been studied for more than 10 decades, the surgical treatment that is currently available is not completely successful in restoring 'normal' wrist function and appearance. Centralisation and radialisation procedures continue to be the cornerstones of surgical treatment. Many innovative approaches include altering the biomechanics of this condition with bony or soft tissue procedures and microvascular techniques. Understanding the proximal limb changes is crucial in the holistic management of this challenging malformation. This article presents a treatment algorithm based on literature evidence and our clinical experience. Level V (Therapeutic).

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) causes considerable morbidity and mortality rates, posing a major global health burden. The management of the OSCC is multidisciplinary, but still the gold standard is surgical resection and reconstruction of the postablative defect. The appearance of secondary primary OSCC is not uncommon; however, it is quite rare that it appears on the skin of the flap that was used for reconstruction during the previous surgical therapy.

We analyzed the differences in knot property of linear and curved knots of dominant, medium, and inferior wood with thirty-three trees from Mengjiagang Forest Farm and Linkou Forestry Bureau in Heilongjiang Province. We divided the 33 trees into two groups according to the height of the site index. We constructed a trunk diameter growth models to explore the connection, between the knot growth inflection points and the successive growth of diameter, and to screen for the types that had a weaker impact on wood quality.

Objectives: To develop and validate a simplified Bleeding Audit Triage Trauma (sBATT) score for use by lay persons, or in areas and environments where physiological monitoring equipment may be unavailable or inappropriate.
Design: The sBATT was derived from the original BATT, which included prehospital systolic blood pressure (SBP), heart rate, respiratory rate, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), age and trauma mechanism. Variables suitable for lay interpretation without monitoring equipment were included (age, level of consciousness, absence of radial pulse, tachycardia and trapped status).
