In recent years, the origin and safety of counterfeit meat products have raised significant concerns among consumers. Therefore, there was an urgent need to develop a new method using fingerprinting techniques for meat product traceability. This study aimed to evaluate the traceability and authenticity of beef from Inner Mongolia by measuring the δC and δN values, as well as 13 mineral elements. In the complex environment of feeding regimes and agricultural types, δN, δC, and Se were selected as characteristic variables to differentiate feeding regimes, while Fe, K, Tl, Sr, Mn, and δC were chosen as characteristic variables for tracing the origin of the beef. Linear discriminant analysis achieved an accuracy rate of up to 100 %. This research confirmed the effectiveness of combining stable isotopes with mineral elements in accurately determining the origin of Inner Mongolian beef and verifying the authenticity of typical feed, providing a valuable strategy for traceability.

Zinc (Zn) is an essential element for all living organisms, and Zn isotopes play a key role in studying the formation of disease. Despite extensive studies on Zn isotopes in healthy and diseased human tissues, the role of Zn isotopes in urinary stones remains unexplored. This study investigates Zn isotopes in 37 urinary stones using multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.

Objective: Evaluation of structural features and metabolic/biochemical abnormalities of the bone tissue and relevant regulation patterns in children, residing in the radiologically contaminated territories (RCT).
Materials And Methods: Children (n = 148) aged 7 to 18 years old were involved in the study. Bone mineral density (BMD) is given in 3 grades according to the mean square deviation values, namely Grade I - standard (n = 75),Grade II - reduced (n = 45) and Grade III - very low one (n = 28).

17-Estradiol (E2) is a natural steroidal estrogen essential for a variety of physiological functions in organisms. However, external E2, which is renowned for its potent biological effects, is also considered to be an endocrine-disrupting compound (EDC) capable of disturbing the normal operation of the endocrine system, even at nanogram-per-liter (ng/L) concentrations. Studies have revealed that medical and livestock wastewater can be contaminated with E2, which poses potential risks to human health.

Objectives: Skeletal indicators of developmental stress are commonly used to assess health, disease, and patterns of morbidity and mortality in past populations. Incorporating information about individual life history, such as adverse life events, allows for a more thorough understanding of their etiology. This paper adopts the double lens of ontogeny and the life course to analyze indicators of developmental stress in relation to known individual pathologies and developmental patterns of the cranium, vertebrae, and long bones.
