Objective: To determine the relationship between pretreatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and 6-month progression-free survival (PFS)/2-year overall survival (OS) among patients with recurrent or metastatic (R/M) oral cavity cancer on pembrolizumab.
Study Design: This study was a retrospective, observational study performed at a tertiary care academic center.
Setting: Participants included patients with oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC) who began pembrolizumab treatment at the University of California, San Francisco between May 2016 and May 2022.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors have transformed the future management of classic Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL) in the frontline and salvage settings. Both nivolumab and pembrolizumab have high efficacy in CHL allowing for reduction of chemotherapy and possibly the use of radiotherapy based on short-term follow-up. In this review article, we highlight recent trials enrolling patients with relapse and refractory classic Hodgkin lymphoma receiving monotherapy with PD-1 inhibitors as well as PD-1 and chemotherapy regimens.

This case study details an innovative conversion therapy strategy in a 58-year-old Asian male with baseline stage cTNM advanced lung squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) harboring a rare exon 20 insertion mutation with concurrent high PD-L1 expression who achieved a pathologic complete response (pCR) after preoperative immunotherapy plus chemotherapy. The patient initially presented with coughing and bloody sputum and was comprehensively diagnosed via PET/CT scanning, bronchoscopic biopsy and next-generation sequencing. After four cycles of platinum‒paclitaxel chemotherapy plus immunotherapy with pembrolizumab (a PD-1 blockade), significant primary tumor shrinkage and the disappearance of oligometastasis in the right adrenal gland were discovered via CT scans.

Background And Objective: Non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) poses a significant clinical challenge, particularly when failing bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) therapy, necessitating alternative treatments. Despite radical cystectomy being the recommended treatment, many patients are unfit or unwilling to undergo this invasive procedure, highlighting the need for effective bladder-sparing therapies. This review aims to summarize and report the evidence on the efficacy and to estimate the costs of bladder-preserving strategies used in NMIBC recurrence after failure of intravesical BCG therapy.
