We report a new NMR method for treating two-site chemical exchange involving half-integer quadrupolar nuclei in a solution. The new method was experimentally verified with extensive Na ( = 3/2), K ( = 3/2), and Rb ( = 3/2) NMR results from alkali metal ions (Na, K, and Rb) in a solution over a wide range of molecular tumbling conditions. In the fast-motion limit, all allowed single-quantum NMR transitions for a particular quadrupolar nucleus are degenerate giving rise to one Lorentzian signal.

Background: The deficit of unawareness of cognitive impairment (cognitive anosognosia) is known to be associated with adverse health outcomes, caregiver burden, and worse cognitive outcomes. A better understanding of cognitive self-awareness and the ability to self-judge cognitive performance among the general population would enable a rational design of cognitive screening and improve how subjective cognitive decline and self-reported errors at tasks like medication administration are interpreted.
Method: Participants were enrolled in the Framingham Heart Study, which is a community-based cohort with three generations of participants.

Background: Although primary progressive aphasia (PPA) is considered a rarer form of dementia, individuals living with PPA are increasingly identified by healthcare professionals. Research investigating speech-language assessment and intervention in PPA has been conducted primarily in monolingual speakers and little is known about clinical decision-making of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) working with bilinguals with PPA.
Methods: A comprehensive survey containing questions regarding clinician confidence, prioritization, and ratings of basic competency for Volkmer, Cartwright, Ruggero et al.

Background: This presentation maps the journey of an evidence-based dementia care program from effectiveness trial design to adoption by policymakers as an ongoing program available to eligible older adults living at home with dementia and their care partners. Care of People with Dementia in their Environments (COPE) is a non-pharmacologic program that seeks to maximize physical function and quality of life in people with dementia and build dementia management skills in care partners. Efficacy trial results showed that, compared to controls, people with dementia receiving COPE had greater functional independence in activities of daily living and care partners receiving COPE reported improved well-being and increased confidence using dementia management skills.

Chiral allyl amines are important structural components in natural products, pharmaceuticals, and chiral catalysts. Herein, we report a cobalt-catalyzed enantioselective reductive coupling of imines with internal alkynes to synthesize chiral allyl amines. The reaction is catalyzed by a cobalt complex derived from commercially available bisphosphine ligand utilizing zinc as the electron donor.
