Background: Overweight and obesity are global issues, especially among women of childbearing age, linked to adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. These risks vary by age, race, and ethnicity, with increasing rates among immigrant and minority women. This study compares overweight and obesity rates, pregnancy weight gain, and neonatal outcomes in Turkish and Syrian immigrant/refugee women.

Background: The efficacy of Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists (GLP1RA) for the treatment of obesity has led to considerably increased demand for these medications. GLP1RA use prior to bariatric surgery may represent a novel approach to treating obesity. The objectives of this study were to (1) describe trends in pre-bariatric GLP1RA use, (2) investigate social and clinical factors associated with their use, and (3) evaluate differences in clinical outcomes based on preoperative GLP1RA use.

Aims: This study aims to analyze prescription patterns of new diabetes medication and assess socioeconomic disparities in their initiation among individuals with T2DM with very high cardiovascular risk.
Methods: Individuals diagnosed with T2DM and very high cardiovascular risk were identified (N = 10,768) based on general practitioner's electronic health record data. SGLT-2is and GLP-1RAs prescription patterns were examined.
