In many noise scenarios, ventilation is necessary. The practical realization of noise attenuation under the premise of ensuring ventilation is an urgent problem to be solved. In this paper, a ventilated acoustic metamaterial labyrinth (VAML) is proposed, and the corresponding analytical and numerical computational models are developed considering the thermal viscous effect (TVE). The loss in sound transmission of the VAML is quantitatively obtained and experimentally verified. The theoretical results are compared with the experimental results with an error of 0.6%. By comparing the transmission coefficient and the impedance at the entrance of the side branches, the mechanism of the TVE on the performance of VAML is analyzed, and it is clarified that the TVE is responsible for the sound absorption coefficient. The effects of structure parameters on the transmission coefficient of the VAML are analyzed individually. The results show that the resonant frequency of the system decreases as the length of channel 1 , the length of channel 2 , and the width of channel d increase. By adjusting the magnitude of these three parameters, the control of the resonant frequency can be realized. Meanwhile, as , and ventilation radius R decrease the valley of transmission coefficient decreases which means better noise reduction. Finally, the effect of flow velocity on the transmission coefficient is analyzed, revealing the mechanism of fluid action on macroscopic acoustic properties.

Empirical data on livestock contact networks are scarce but digital technologies are increasingly used to characterize animal behavior and describe the dynamics of contact networks. The objective of this study was to use contact network analysis to quantify contacts within three pens of feedlot cattle across three consecutive years at varying temporal resolutions to better inform the construction of network-based disease transmission models for cattle within confined-housing systems. We also aimed to describe the influence of the variation in Real-Time Location System (RTLS) average tag read rates and the effect of increasing minimum contact duration (MCD) on the contact networks of feedlot cattle.

Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the seasonal transmission pattern of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), challenging the launch of palivizumab immunization campaigns. This study explored the performance of the moving epidemic method (MEM) to guide the launch of such campaigns.
Methods: Data were collected through a continuous RSV surveillance system (07/2013‒03/2022) in Québec, Canada.

Here we present the Digital Brain (DB)-a platform for simulating spiking neuronal networks at the large neuron scale of the human brain on the basis of personalized magnetic resonance imaging data and biological constraints. The DB aims to reproduce both the resting state and certain aspects of the action of the human brain. An architecture with up to 86 billion neurons and 14,012 GPUs-including a two-level routing scheme between GPUs to accelerate spike transmission in up to 47.

The objective of the present study was to determine the variability of platelet lysate-derived extracellular vesicles (pEV), in terms of characteristics and functionality through wound healing assays, when isolated either from platelet concentrates (PC, obtained from 5 donors) or from multiple PC (MPC, that is 50 donors). pEV were isolated under GMP-like conditions in a clean room using Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC). The differential characteristics between pEV obtained from PC (PC-EV) or MPC (MPC-EV) were evaluated by means of protein concentration, Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and flow cytometry using the MACSPlex™ arrays for surface analysis profiling of EV.

Introduction: This study aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) epidemiological landscape in China through a historical review and current assessment.
Methods: Data were extracted from China's HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Response Information Management System (CRIMS). Transmission patterns across different phases were visualized using stacked area charts.
