Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is an ideal model for exploring the mechanisms of the virus; it is also an optimal vector for developing vector vaccines and for cancer therapy. A reverse genetic system of NDV Mukteswar strain controlled by eukaryotic cellular RNA polymerase II promoter was established by reverse genetics technology. Based on the reverse genetic system, an open reading frame of the enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) gene be inserted between the P and M genes of the viral genome and flanked with the gene start (GS) sequence and gene end (GE) sequence to form an independent transcription unit.

The aim of this study is to utilize two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate the potential causal relationship among psoriasis, iridocyclitis, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and to explore any potential mediation effects. Pooled data were derived from the public genome-wide association study (GWAS) in NAFLD (finn-b-NAFLD), iridocyclitis (finn-b-H7_IRIDOCYCLITIS) and psoriasis (finn-b-L12_PSORI_VULG). Univariable MR (UVMR) analysis was implemented to explore the causal relationship among psoriasis, iridocyclitis, and NAFLD, and inverse variance weighting (IVW) was used as the primary analytical method.

[Synergistic Effect of IGF1-R Inhibitor AEW541 on Imatinib Inducing SUP-B15 Cell Death].

Zhongguo Shi Yan Xue Ye Xue Za Zhi

December 2024

Blood Diseases Institute, Xuzhou Medical University, Department of Hematology, The Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University.

Objective: To explore whether Ph acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) cell line SUP-B15 treated with imatinib occurs a tolerant status charactered by cell proliferation suppression but apoptotic resistance, then evaluate whether IGF1-R inhibitor AEW541 can break this tolerance, and further explain its mechanisms.

Methods: SUP-B15 cells were treated with different concentrations of imatinib or AEW541. Cell proliferation was assayed by Deep Blue, and apoptotic cells were determined by Annexin V/7-AAD staining.

Background: Frailty is a common geriatric syndrome associated with poor clinical outcomes. Effectiveness of lifestyle intervention programmes among frail older people has been examined earlier, but effects of interventions on prevention of frailty have been rarely studied. The aim of this study was to investigate to what extent the multidomain lifestyle intervention in the Finnish Geriatric Intervention Study to Prevent Cognitive Impairment and Disability (FINGER) affected changes in frailty status among older men and women at risk of cognitive disorders.

Calcium Homeostasis in the human body is regulated by hormones, including parathyroid hormone and vitamin D3. Dysfunction in the form of hypoparathyroidism causes hypocalcaemia. In patients treated for primary hypoparathyroidism with activated vitamin D replacement, iatrogenic hypercalcaemia can occur.
