In the current study, the nutritional value of various hydrolyzed feather meals (HFM) was investigated in two separate experiments (an and an experiment). The experiment was based on a completely randomized design with five replications and seven treatments including (1) Raw feather meal (RFM), (2) HFM by autoclave (Au-HFM), (3) Fermented feather meal (FFM) by (Bl-FFM), (4) FFM by (Bs-FFM), (5) FFM by (An-FFM), (6) FFM by + + (Co-FFM), and (7) HFM by an enzyme (En-HFM). The highest pepsin-pancreatin and apparent ileal CP digestibility were observed in Co-FFM, and the lowest amount belonged to RFM (P < 0.05). For the experiment, 480 1-d-old male Ross 308 broilers were distributed in the experimental units in a completely randomized design with 8 treatments and 5 replicates (12 chicks/replicate). The treatments were: (1) Control diet (without feather meal (FM)), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), and (8), diets containing 4 % RFM, Au-HFM, Bl-FFM, Bs-FFM, An-FFM, Co-FFM, and En-HFM, respectively. For the study, the birds fed control and Co-FFM diets had the highest feed intake, body weight gain, and the lowest feed conversion ratio compared to the other treatments (P < 0.05). The broilers fed the control and FFMs diets had the lowest relative weight of abdominal fat and liver compared to the other groups (P < 0.05). Therefore, our findings advise the poultry feed industry to look for Co-FFM as an effective alternative and cheaper feed ingredient to replace part of soybean meal in poultry diet.

Pectin exhibits potential as an excellent food additive for its processing properties and biological activities, but its application is hindered because of complex and unclear structure. Water-insoluble and water-soluble poly-galacturonic acids, hydrolyzed from the spherical pectin from submicroparticles in chrysanthemum tea infusion, were characterized for obtaining the detail structural information. The water-insoluble poly-galacturonic acid was a crystal which constructed by hydrogen bonds and long linear chains comprised of α-1,4-glycosidic bonds and galacturonic acid residues.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of using 3 yeast-based additives as an alternative to sodium monensin on rumen fermentation parameters using a dual-flow continuous fermentation system. Following spinal cord injury (SCI), there is a short-lived recovery phase that ultimately plateaus. Understanding changes within the spinal cord over time may facilitate targeted approaches to prevent and/or reverse this plateau and allow for continued recovery. The amino acid (AA) content of multiple samples of various dairy powders was determined, providing a comprehensive evaluation of the differences in AA profiles attributable to distinct manufacturing processes. Products examined included whole milk powder (WMP), skim milk powder (SMP), cheese whey protein concentrate (WPC-C), lactic acid casein whey protein concentrate (WPC-L), high-fat whey protein concentrate (WPC-HF), hydrolyzed whey protein concentrate (WPH), whey protein isolate (WPI), and demineralized whey protein (D90). WMP and SMP exhibited broadly similar AA profiles, with minor differences likely due to the minimal milk fat protein content, which is nearly absent from SMP.
