In this study, a new magnetic nanocomposite comprised of a molecularly imprinted polymer, metal organic framework, and covalent organic framework was synthesized and used in the dispersive solid-phase extraction of montelukast from plasma and urine samples. The extracted analyte was then analyzed using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The drug extraction process involved adding the synthesized nanocomposite to the biological sample. After vortexing, the solid particles were collected using an external magnet. The adsorbed analyte was subsequently eluted with acetonitrile. By combining of the developed method with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, low limits of detection (0.04 and 0.05 ng mL in urine and plasma, respectively) and quantification (0.14 and 0.16 ng mL in urine and plasma, respectively), a wide linear range (0.14-300 and 0.16-300 ng mL in urine and plasma, respectively), acceptable relative standard deviations for intra- and inter-day precisions (≤6.3 %), and good extraction recoveries (75 and 72 % in urine and plasma samples, respectively) were achieved.

Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) are rare neuroendocrine tumors derived from chromaffin cells, with 80-85% originating in the adrenal medulla and 15-20% from extra-adrenal chromaffin tissues (paragangliomas). Approximately 30-40% of PPGLs have a hereditary component, making them one of the most genetically predisposed tumor types. Recent advances in genetic research have classified PPGLs into three molecular clusters: pseudohypoxia-related, kinase-signaling, and -signaling pathway variants.

Purpose: High doses of amoxicillin are recommended to treat severe infections such as endocarditis. Amoxicillin causes dose-dependent toxicities, in particular crystal nephropathy. Toxicity could be avoided by monitoring of amoxicillin trough plasma concentrations (ATPC).

Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is the main functional index of kidney health and disease. Currently, no methods are available to directly measure tubular mass and function. Here, we report a serendipitous finding that the in vitro cell viability dye resazurin can be used in mice as an exogenous sensor of tubular function.

To compare the efficacy and safety of low-power holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (LP-HoLEP) with plasma kinetic resection of prostate (PKRP). Sixty-three patients treated with transurethral LP-HoLEP (observation group) and 68 patients treated with transurethral PKRP (control group) at Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from November 2019 to November 2022 were retrospectively compared with regard to operation duration, intra-operative blood loss, prostate resection ratio, postoperative bladder irrigation time, postoperative indwelling urinary catheter time, postoperative urinary incontinence incidence, International Prostate Symptom Scale (IPSS), maximum urine flow rate (Qmax), and residual urine volume (RUV). In both groups, postoperative IPSS, Qmax, and RUV were significantly improved compared to preoperative values (P < 0.

Pre-eclampsia (PE) is a serious condition affecting 2-8% of pregnancies worldwide, leading to high maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), small non-coding RNA molecules, have emerged as potential biomarkers for various pregnancy-related pathologies, including PE. MiRNAs in plasma and serum have been extensively studied, but urinary miRNAs remain underexplored, especially during early pregnancy.
