Frozen section evaluation was done on 96 conization specimens. One patient had invasive carcinoma, which was correctly diagnosed on frozen section. No patient received inappropriate therapy on the basis of an erroneous diagnosis made from the evaluation of frozen sections. The mean time from initiation of surgery to the surgeon's receipt of the frozen section diagnosis was 0.9 hours. There was no significant increase in the blood loss or intraoperative complication rate when frozen conization was added to either abdominal or vaginal hysterectomy.

Fundacion Neuropolis, Zaragoza, Zaragoza, Spain.

Background: The therapeutic management of dementia with Lewy bodies (LBD) is a challenge given the high sensitivity to drugs in this disease. This is particularly sensitive with regard to the management of parkinsonism. In particular, treatment of motor symptoms with levodopa or dopaminergic agonists poses a risk of worsening cognitive and behavioral symptoms.

Asynchronous Embryo Transfer in Ewes.

Reprod Domest Anim

January 2025

College of Animal Science and Technology, Hebei Technology Innovation Center of Cattle and Sheep Embryo, Hebei Agricultural University, Baoding, Hebei, China.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of spatially and/or temporally asynchronous transfer of in vivo embryos at different stages in ewes during the breeding season. Four experiments were carried out. In Experiment 1, 207 blastocysts that had been frozen and thawed were transferred into the oviducts of 43 day two recipients, the oviducts of 23 day six recipients, and the uteri of 141 day six recipients, respectively.

This study aims to evaluate differences in gut microbiota structures between infertile women undergoing frozen embryo transfer (FET) with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and healthy controls (HCs), and to identify potential markers. We comprehensively enrolled 193 infertile women undergoing FET (discovery cohort: 38 HCs and 31 GDM; validation cohort: 85 HCs and 39 GDM). Gut microbial profiles of the discovery cohort were investigated during the pre-pregnancy (Pre), first trimester (T1), and second trimester (T2).

Evaluating how weather, farm management, and soil conditions impact phosphorus (P) loss from agricultural sites is essential for improving our waterways in agricultural watersheds. In this study, rainfall characteristics, manure application timing, tillage, surface condition, and soil test phosphorus (STP) were analyzed to determine their effects on total phosphorus (TP) and dissolved phosphorus (DP) loss using 125 site-years of runoff data collected by the University of Wisconsin Discovery Farms and Discovery Farms Minnesota. Three linear mixed models (LMMs) were then used to evaluate the influence of those factors on TP and DP losses: (1) a model that included all runoff events, (2) manured sites only, and (3) precipitation events only.

Dissolution, solvation and diffusion in low-temperature zinc electrolyte design.

Nat Rev Chem

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Advanced Energy Materials Chemistry (Ministry of Education), College of Chemistry, Nankai University, Tianjin, China.

Aqueous zinc-based batteries have garnered the attention of the electrochemical energy storage community, but they suffer from electrolytes freezing and sluggish kinetics in cold environments. In this Review, we discuss the key parameters necessary for designing anti-freezing aqueous zinc electrolytes. We start with the fundamentals related to different zinc salts and their dissolution and solvation behaviours, by highlighting the effects of anions and additives on salt solubility, ion diffusion and freezing points.
