AI Article Synopsis

  • The case involves a child with unilateral pulmonary vein atresia, which means one of the veins that carries blood from the lungs was missing or underdeveloped, causing recurrent cough symptoms.
  • A CT angiography of the pulmonary artery helped confirm this unusual diagnosis.
  • Additionally, the child had atypical arteries supplying blood from the abdominal aorta, making this case even more unique.

Article Abstract

We describe a case of unilateral pulmonary vein atresia in a child who presented with a recurrent cough. Pulmonary artery CT angiography confirmed the diagnosis. In addition, we found anomalous blood-supplying arteries from the abdominal aorta, which makes this case even rarer.
