A 76-year-old woman was diagnosed with mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma by upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. She underwent further investigation for concomitant bilateral pleural effusions and right pulmonary consolidation. MALT lymphoma with the t(11; 18)(q21; q21) translocation and were detected in pleural fluid. Lymphoma was not histopathologically diagnosed by lung biopsies, but the same translocation was identified in bronchial lavage. MALT lymphoma is often difficult to diagnose by bronchoscopy because of only mild dysplasia. However, present report on using chromosomal translocation analysis from bronchial lavage indicates that such testing may serve as a useful diagnostic adjunct in MALT lymphoma with lung involvement.

Introduction: There is little information in the literature on the early, sub-clinical stage and laboratory test results in patients with primary mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma of the lung, a rare disease.
Case Description: In a 75-year-old man, an open lung biopsy-confirmed diagnosis of primary pulmonary lymphoma was preceded by almost six months of anaemia of inflammatory disease and monocytosis without any pulmonary symptoms. When he developed a dry cough, increasing dyspnoea and marked weight loss, these changes deepened and became associated with reactive thrombocytosis; markedly increased ferritin and C-reactive protein (positive acute-phase reactants), as well as reduced albumin and transferrin (negative acute-phase reactants).

Zandelisib, a selective, potent PI3Kδ inhibitor, demonstrated favourable outcomes in patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma in a global phase II study. This phase II study evaluated the efficacy and safety of zandelisib for relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma or marginal zone lymphoma. Sixty-one patients received zandelisib orally at 60 mg daily continuously in the first two 28-day cycles, followed by intermittent dosing on Days 1-7 following each cycle until progressive disease or unacceptable toxicity.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (AdCC) of the breast is a rare histological subtype of breast cancer, which usually has a low propensity for metastasis and is associated with a good prognosis. AdCC metastasis to the kidney is rare, with only 29 cases reported in the literature. We report a case of a woman in her 60s with multiple right-sided large cystic-solid renal lesions after a recent diagnosis of marginal zone B-cell lymphoma.
