Mammalian place cells are active at one or a few specific locations in the environment. First described in the rodent hippocampus, and subsequently across the mammalian evolutionary tree, place cells have now been discovered in the larval zebrafish telencephalon.

Proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs) are bifunctional molecules that induce selective protein degradation by linking an E3 ubiquitin ligase enzyme to a target protein. This approach allows scope for targeting "undruggable" proteins, and several PROTACs have reached the stage of clinical candidates. However, the roles of cellular transmembrane transporters in PROTAC uptake and efflux remain underexplored.

Dienia is a small, pantropical genus of epidendroid Malaxideae orchids. The floral lip is upwardly directed and does not serve as a landing platform for pollinators. This role has been assumed by sepals and/or gynostemium or whole inflorescence.

Background: Spatial disorientation is an early symptom of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The hippocampus creates a cognitive map, wherein cells form firing fields in specific locations within an environment, termed place cells. Critically, place cells remain stable across visits to an environment, but change their firing rate or field location in a different environment.

Background: The entorhinal cortex and hippocampus are loci of early vulnerability in AD. These areas are crucial for episodic memory processing for space and contexts. The majority of AD model mouse imaging and electrode studies utilize simple tasks such open field and linear track.

The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to assess the carcinogenic effects of extremely low frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF) by analyzing animal and comet assay studies. We have performed a global meta-analysis on all the animal studies on the relation between ELF-MF and cancer incidence and separate meta-analyses on the incidence of cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, breast cancer, brain cancer and DNA damage assessed with the comet assay. Of the 5145 references identified, 71 studies have been included in our systematic review and 22 studies in our meta-analyses.
