Purpose: Advancements in minimally invasive technologies to decrease postoperative morbidity and recovery times represent a large opportunity for mitral valve repair operations. However, current technologies are unable to replicate gold standard surgical neochord implantation.
Methods: We developed a novel neochordal repair device, Minimally Invasive Ventricular Anchoring Neochordoplasty (MIVAN), which operates via transcatheter, trans-septal anchoring to the posterior ventricular wall.

Background: The development of new trans-septal transcatheter interventions for patients with structural heart disease necessitates a precise and comprehensive understanding of the anatomy of the interatrial septum (IAS). The scarcity of gross anatomical studies has triggered our interest in exploring the morphometry and morphology of IAS.
Aims: To study the morphology, morphometry and variations of the interatrial septum in autopsied human hearts.

Interest has arisen in exploring the off-label application of left-sided percutaneous mechanical aspiration, where conventional management strategies may not suffice. Percutaneous mechanical aspiration has been shown to be effective as a diagnostic and therapeutic intervention in select patients with infective endocarditis. This paper hereby reports the first case of a successful transeptal large bore manual aspiration device (AlphaVac; Angiodynamics) for nonbacterial thrombotic endocarditis with total resolution of associated severe mitral valve regurgitation.
