Although (PA) hasn't been considered as a recognized agent of diarrhea, this organism is able to cause community-acquired diarrhea accompanied by fever and sepsis, as well as antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). Antibiotic resistance rates in stool isolates of PA are generally lower compared to other infection sites, but in patients with AAD, there are reports of resistance to most of the antibiotic classes in these isolates. PA, along with other opportunistic pathogens like , can cause AAD. Therefore, it is suggested to examine stool samples of patients with predisposing factors such as intensive care unit (ICU) admission and long-time antibiotic treatment, especially with cephalosporins, for both and PA.

Lung cancer represents a significant global health burden, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) being the most common subtype. The current standard of care for NSCLC has limited efficacy, highlighting the necessity for innovative treatment options. Lidocaine, traditionally recognized as a local anesthetic, has emerged as a compound with potential antitumor and anti-inflammatory capabilities.

The emerging field of quantum life science combines principles from quantum physics and biology to study fundamental life processes at the molecular level. Quantum mechanics, which describes the properties of small particles, can help explain how quantum phenomena such as tunnelling, superposition, and entanglement may play a role in biological systems. However, capturing these effects in living systems is a formidable challenge, as it involves dealing with dissipation and decoherence caused by the surrounding environment.

With the emergence of high-quality sequencing technologies, further research on transcriptomes has become possible. Circular RNA (circRNA), a novel type of endogenous RNA molecule with a covalently closed circular structure through "back-splicing," is reported to be widely present in eukaryotic cells and participates mainly in regulating gene and protein expression in various ways. It is becoming a research hotspot in the non-coding RNA field.

The gut microbiome is a complex system that directly interacts with and influences many systems in the body. This delicate balance of microbiota plays an important role in health and disease and is highly influenced by lifestyle factors and the surrounding environment. As further research emerges, understanding the full potential of the gut microbiome and the impact of using nutraceuticals to positively influence its function may open the door to greater therapeutic outcomes in the treatment and prevention of disease.
