Wide local excision with a 1cm margin is the standard treatment for proliferating trichilemmal tumor (PTT), but it is challenging to treat giant tumors, or tumors located on the scalp and face. We present a case of a 90-year-old woman with painful PTT on the cheek who was cured by a combination of limited resection and neoadjuvant ALA-PDT. Preoperative and postoperative 20% ALA-PDT was used for a total of 6 sessions. PTT was resected 2 mm outside the clinical margins under local infiltration anesthesia. The PTT with a size of 69 × 59 × 37mm was removed by limited resection. ALA-PDT was an effective therapy for local anti-inflammation and anti-tumor. The old woman received it well and recovered quickly. Limited resection combined with neoadjuvant ALA-PDT is an advanced treatment for giant PTT, which has the advantages of minimally invasive, effective and safe.

Background: Adult pineoblastoma is an extremely rare central nervous system malignancy. Limitations of tumour databases, single institution retrospective analyses and a few case reports are not sufficient to clarify treatment options. Therefore, a systematic review of comprehensive research data provides referenceable treatment options.

Prompt emergence from general anesthesia is crucial after neurosurgical procedures, such as craniotomies, to facilitate timely neurological evaluation for identification of intraoperative complications. Delayed emergence can be caused by residual anesthetics, metabolic imbalances, and intracranial pathology, for which an eye examination can provide early diagnostic clues. The sunset sign (or setting sun sign), characterized by a downward deviation of the eyes, can be an early indicator of raised intracranial pressure (ICP) or midbrain compression, as is commonly observed in states of hydrocephalus or periaqueductal or tectal plate dysfunction.

This abstract presents a case study of a 43-year-old male patient diagnosed with sinonasal leiomyoma, a distinctive and challenging entity in otolaryngology. The patient presented with a complex clinical history, including a 2-year interval between initial evaluation and definitive diagnosis.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths with a 5-year survival rate of 13%. Surgical resection remains the only curative option as systemic therapies offer limited benefit. Poor response to chemotherapy and immunotherapy is due, in part, to the dense stroma and heterogeneous tumor microenvironment (TME).
