Lectin affinity chromatography is one of powerful tools for the study of protein glycosylation. Different lectin proteins can recognize different structures of monosaccharides or oligosaccharide units, allowing for the selective separation of glycopeptides or glycoproteins containing different polysaccharide structures. However, the N-glycans were only partially captured by most of common lectins, reducing the coverage rate of identifying N-glycoconjugates. Recently, it has been reported that the engineering variant of glycan binding protein Fbs1 has a high affinity for innermost ManGlcNAc structure and is able to bind diverse types of N-glycans, which can be suitable for the analysis of protein N-glycosylation. However, efficient immobilization of protein to separation matrix is particularly challenging as it requires the functionality and integrity of the protein to be preserved. Herein, we describe a simple and robust strategy for oriental covalent immobilization of proteins on magnetic nanoparticles by N-terminal selective labeling techniques. We inserted the enterokinase cleavage site to produce the specific N- terminal glycine of protein. Under physiological conditions, the protein was immobilized on the surface of the MNPs by this glycine tag, and the enrichment process could be completed within 30 min. A whole enrichment and purification of glycan and glycopeptides were completed and analyzed by MALDI TOF-MS. The functional materials achieved stable enrichment of glycan structure in different enzyme digestion systems or complex samples, showing excellent anti-interference and applicability.

Background: The burden of pneumococcal diseases remains high in Japan. Pn-MAPS24v is a novel MAPS-based vaccine containing complexes of 24 serotype-specific polysaccharides (PS), non-covalently coupled with fusion protein 1 (CP1). This study evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of different dose levels of Pn-MAPS24v, administered in Japanese adults either subcutaneously (SC) or intramuscularly (IM).

Introduction: Intravenous (IV) administration of iron is considered a safe and efficacious treatment for iron deficiency anemia (IDA), recommended in patients requiring rapid replenishment of iron, or intolerant or unresponsive to oral administration of iron. Recent randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have shown high incidence of hypophosphatemia after administration of two IV iron preparations: saccharated ferric oxide (SFO) and ferric carboxymaltose (FCM). The present study aimed to conduct matching-adjusted indirect comparison (MAIC) of hypophosphatemia incidence with these iron formulations and ferric derisomaltose (FDI) based on data from head-to-head RCTs conducted in Japan.

Importance: Limited data describe the health status of sexual or gender minority (SGM) people due to inaccurate and inconsistent ascertainment of gender identity, sex assigned at birth, and sexual orientation.
Objective: To evaluate whether the prevalence of 12 health conditions is higher among SGM adults in the All of Us Research Program data compared with cisgender heterosexual (non-SGM) people.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This cross-sectional study used data from a multidisciplinary research consortium, the All of Us Research Program, that links participant-reported survey information to electronic health records (EHR) and physical measurements.

Photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide into useful feedstocks has attracted increasing attention. In this study, a fully conjugated COF material COF-TMT-A with the main structure containing an alkyne group and triazine part was synthesized using sp-carbon-carbon double bond (CC) linked COF as a research target. The prepared COF materials were characterized in detail by FT-IR, PXRD, and C solid-state NMR.
