Short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging systems offer remarkable advantages, such as enhanced resolution and contrast, compared to their optical counterparts. However, broader applications demand improvements in performance, notably the elimination of cryogenic temperature requirements and cost reduction in manufacturing processes. In this manuscript, we present a new development in SWIR photodetection, exploiting the potential of metal halide perovskite materials. Our work introduces a cost-effective and easily fabricated SWIR photodetector with an ultrabroad detection range from 900 to 2500 nm, a room-temperature responsivity of 1.57 × 10 A/W, and a specific detectivity of 4.18 × 10 Jones at 1310 nm. We then performed comprehensive static and time-resolved optical and electrical measurements under ambient conditions, complemented by extensive density functional theory simulations, validating the formation of heterojunctions within the intrinsic -type and extrinsic -type perovskite structures. The potential of our perovskite-based SWIR materials extends from photodetectors to photovoltaic cells and introduces a possibility for high SWIR responsivity at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, which promotes its economic efficiency.

Background: There is frequent academic exchange between Switzerland, Germany and Austria, facilitated by the common language. Additionally, the postgraduate training curricula in obstetrics and gynecology show some similarities. We aimed to compare self-perceived level of ability, availability of simulation training and teaching and feedback culture among residents in obstetrics and gynecology in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.

The use of hydrogen as fuel presents many safety challenges due to its flammability and explosive nature, combined with its lack of color, taste, and odor. The purpose of this paper is to present an electrochemical sensor that can achieve rapid and accurate detection of hydrogen leakage. This paper presents both the component elements of the sensor, like sensing material, sensing element, and signal conditioning, as well as the electronic protection and signaling module of the critical concentrations of H.

The practical implementation of terahertz (THz) imaging and spectroscopic systems in real operational conditions requires them to be of a compact size, to have enhanced functionality, and to be user-friendly. This work demonstrates the single-sided integration of Fresnel-zone-plate-based optical elements with InGaAs bow-tie diodes directly on a semiconductor chip. Numerical simulations were conducted to optimize the Fresnel zone plate's focal length and the InP substrate's thickness to achieve constructive interference at 600 GHz, room-temperature operation and achieve a sensitivity more than an order of magnitude higher-up to 24.

In this study, a simple and easy synthesis strategy to realize the modification of AuHgPt nanoalloy materials on the surface of ITO glass at room temperature is presented. Gold nanoparticles as templates were obtained by electrochemical deposition, mercury was introduced as an intermediate to form an amalgam, and then a galvanic replacement reaction was utilized to successfully prepare gold-mercury-platinum (AuHgPt) nanoalloys. The obtained alloys were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques.

Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) with varying levels of nitrogen (N) doping were synthesized using a straightforward sol-gel approach. The morphology and microstructure of the N-doped ZnO NPs were examined through techniques such as SEM, XRD, photoluminescence, and Raman spectroscopy. The characterization revealed visible changes in the morphology and microstructure resulting from the incorporation of nitrogen into the ZnO lattice.
