Peptaloid is the first dedicated database for peptide alkaloid molecules, a unique class of naturally derived compounds known for their structural diversity and significant biological activities. Despite their promising potential in drug discovery and therapeutic development, research on peptide alkaloids has been limited by the absence of a comprehensive and centralized resource. Fragmented data across various sources have posed a significant challenge, underscoring the need for a specialized database to facilitate more efficient research and application. Peptaloid addresses this critical gap by providing a database with over 161,000 peptide alkaloid entries, each detailed with structural, physicochemical, and pharmacological properties. By leveraging advanced computational tools and machine learning, Peptaloid generates ADMET profiles, aiding in identifying and optimizing therapeutic candidates. Designed for versatility, the database supports various applications beyond drug discovery, including ecology and material sciences. Peptaloid (as a specialized database for peptide alkaloids) will play a crucial role in innovation and collaboration across scientific disciplines. Peptaloid is accessible at https://peptaloid.niser.ac.in.

Background: In the fifth National Wilms Tumor Study, patients received vincristine and dactinomycin (VA) without radiation for stage I focal anaplastic Wilms tumor (FAWT) and VA plus doxorubicin (DD4A) and radiation for stage II-IV FAWT. Four-year event-free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) for stage I FAWT were 67.5% and 88.

Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation is a key process in inflammatory diseases like gout, but the underlying molecular mechanisms remain incompletely understood. This study aimed to establish a model to examine the formation of NETs induced by monosodium urate (MSU) and phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) and to elucidate their molecular pathways. Laser confocal microscopy was used to visualize NET formation, while flow cytometry was employed to detect reactive oxygen species (ROS) production.

Neuronal TRPV1-CGRP axis regulates peripheral nerve regeneration through ERK/HIF-1 signaling pathway.

J Neurochem

State Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases & National Center for Stomatology & National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases, West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China.

Severe trauma frequently leads to nerve damage. Peripheral nerves possess a degree of regenerative ability, and actively promoting their recovery can help restore the sensory and functional capacities of tissues. The neuropeptide calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) is believed to regulate the repair of injured peripheral nerves, with neuronal transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1 (TRPV1) potentially serving as a crucial upstream factor.

Rationale: Peliosis hepatis (PH) is a rare disease with few clinical reports and complex etiology. However, there have been no reports of hyperprolactinemia (HPRL) leading to PH at present. This paper, through case reports, expands the understanding of the etiology of PH and the pathological damage effect of prolactin (PRL).

Purpose: To create a computer-aided prediction (CAP) system to predict Wilms tumor (WT) responsiveness to preoperative chemotherapy (PC) using pre-therapy contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT).

Materials And Methods: A single-center database was reviewed for children <18 years diagnosed with WT and received PC between 2001 and 2021. Patients were excluded if pre- and post-PC CECT were not retrievable.
