Objective: To determine the predictive value of chest X-ray for the depth of tracheal intubation in infants.
Methods: Basic data of 161 infants under 3 years old was collected. Tracheal length was measured on preoperative chest radiographs to guide intubation depth. Correlation analysis was performed to examine relationships between tracheal length, age, and body weight.
Results: 161 cases (male/female = 142/19, no significant difference in sex, p = 0.09) were included, aged from 1 month to 28 months, weight from 2.5 kg to 18.0 kg. The endotracheal intubation depth reached the standard rate was 100 %, with 0 cases of over-deep or over-shallow intubation. Correlation analysis showed that tracheal length was positively correlated with both age and body weight, with stronger correlations observed in infants aged 1-12 months (r = 0.751 for age, r = 0.672 for weight, p < 0.01) compared to those aged 13-28 months (r = 0.672 for age, r = 0.408 for weight, p < 0.01).
Conclusion: Direct measurement of tracheal length on routinely performed chest X-rays is simple, feasible and safe, and may be another choice for guiding the depth of tracheal intubation in children.

Objective: To compare the clinical outcomes of patients with unifocal paratracheal papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) after thermal ablation (TA) vs. partial thyroidectomy (PT).
Materials And Methods: This retrospective multicenter study included 436 patients with unifocal, clinical N0 paratracheal PTMC who underwent TA (210 patients) or PT (236 patients) between June 2014 and December 2020.

Introduction: Patients with cerebral hemorrhage often require a tracheal intubation to protect the airway and maintain oxygenation. Due to the use of analgesic and sedative drugs during endotracheal intubation and the opening of the glottis may easily cause aspiration pneumonia. Ceftriaxone is a semi-synthetic third-generation cephalosporin with strong antimicrobial activity against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Postoperative positive pressure ventilation (PPV) can contribute to failure of large intrathoracic airway repairs. We report a case of a 67-year-old woman with severe emphysema who presented with an unstable airway and mediastinitis after full-length transmural intrathoracic tracheal intubation injury. After repair, neither extubation nor PPV distal to the repair was feasible.

To explore the risk factors of delayed extubation after expanded thymectomy in patients with myasthenia gravis. Patients with myasthenia gravis who underwent expanded thymectomy from May 2021 to January 2024 and were admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after surgery were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided in to the delayed extubation and successful extubation according to the length of mechanical ventilation whether exceeding than 48 hours.

Background: The correlation between central airway anatomical parameters and demographic factors, such as sex, age, weight, height, body mass index (BMI), and cardiac factors, remains unclear. This study examined the correlation between these factors and central airway anatomical parameters in adult patients.
Methods: All consecutive patients who underwent lung mass surgery at our hospital between December 2020 and December 2023 were included in this study.
