The Aba family played a pivotal role in Medieval Hungary, dominating vast territories and producing influential figures. We conducted an archaeogenetic study on remains from the necropolis in Abasár, the political center of the Aba clan, to identify family members and explore their genetic origins. Using Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) data from 19 individuals and radiocarbon dating, we identified 6 Aba family members with close kinship ties. Four males carried identical N1a1a1a1a4∼ haplogroups, and our phylogenetic analysis traced this royal paternal lineage back to Mongolia, indicating migration to the Carpathian Basin with the conquering Hungarians. Genome analysis, including ADMIXTURE, principal-component analysis (PCA), and qpAdm, revealed East Eurasian genetic patterns, aligning with our phylogenetic findings. Identity by descent (IBD) analysis confirmed family kinship and revealed connections to prominent Hungarian noble families like the Árpáds, Báthorys, and Corvinus, as well as to the first-generation immigrant elite of the Hungarian conquest.

Focusing on the Yashkun population of Gilgit-Baltistan, an administrative territory in northern Pakistan, our study investigated mtDNA haplotypes as indicators of ancient gene flow and genetic diversity. Genomic DNA was extracted and evaluated for quality using agarose gel electrophoresis. The complete control region of mtDNA (nt 16024-576) was amplified via PCR, and sequencing was performed using the Big Dye Terminator Kit on an Applied Biosystems Genetic Analyzer.

In this study, long-term and continuous monitoring of atmospheric radon concentration, temperature, air pressure, and humidity was conducted at China Jinping Underground Laboratory. The impacts of temperature, humidity, and air pressure on radon concentration in the experimental environment were specifically examined, along with the potential interactions among these factors. Moreover, Radon data were denoised using Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) to reveal factors that might influence changes in radon concentration.

Enantiornithes are the most successful early-diverging avian clade, their fossils revealing important information regarding the structure of Cretaceous avifaunas and the parallel refinement of flight alongside the ornithuromorph lineage that includes modern birds. The most diverse recognized family of Early Cretaceous enantiornithines is the Bohaiornithidae, known from the Jehol Biota in northeastern China. Members of this clade enhance our understanding of intraclade morphological diversity and elucidate the independent evolution of this unique lineage.

Background: Sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) is associated with hypertension and vascular remodeling. Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and the Hippo-YAP pathway are implicated in these processes, but their specific roles remain unclear. This study investigated the HIF-1α/Hippo-YAP pathway in SAS-related hypertension.

Background And Aims: This study evaluated the predictive value of the APF risk score in East Asian patients undergoing open nephrectomy and its correlation with hypertension and NAFLD.
Methods And Results: A retrospective study used the clinical data of 82 patients who underwent ON between January 2010 and December 2022. Per their APF score, patients were categorized into groups A (0-2 points) and B (3-4 points).
