Background And Aims: Multimorbidity, the coexistence of multiple chronic diseases, is a rapidly expanding global health challenge, carrying profound implications for patients, caregivers, healthcare systems, and society. Investigating the determinants and drivers underlying multiple chronic diseases is a priority for disease management and prevention.
Method: This prospective cohort study analyzed data from the 53,026 participants in the UK Biobank from baseline (2006 to 2010) across 13.

Background: Observational studies have suggested an association between gut microbiota(GM) and postpartum depression (PPD). However, the causal relationship remains unclear, and the role of blood metabolites in this association remains elusive.
Methods: This study firstly elucidated the causal relationship among 196 GM taxa, 224 blood metabolites, and PPD from a genetic perspective, employing two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR).

Understanding the impact of gravity on daily upper-limb movements is crucial for comprehending upper-limb impairments. This study investigates the relationship between gravitational force and upper-limb mobility by analyzing hand trajectories from 24 healthy subjects performing nine pick-and-place tasks, captured using a motion capture system. The results reveal significant differences in motor behavior in terms of planning, smoothness, efficiency, and accuracy when movements are performed against or with gravity.

Setting up the correct diagnosis of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS), a chronic inflammatory disease of the bladder, is a challenge, as there are neither diagnostic criteria nor reliable and non-invasive disease biomarkers available. The aim of the present study was to simultaneously determine matched serum- and urine-derived biomarkers of IC/BPS, which would provide additional insights into disease mechanisms and set the basis for further biomarker validation. Our study included 12 female patients with IC/BPS and 12 healthy controls.

Considering the substantial inaccuracies inherent in the traditional manual identification of ceramic categories and the issues associated with analyzing ceramics based on chemical or spectral features, which may lead to the destruction of ceramics, this paper introduces a novel provenance classification of archaeological ceramics which relies on microscopic features and an ensemble deep learning model, overcoming the time consuming and require costly equipment limitations of current standard methods, and without compromising the structural integrity and artistic value of ceramics. The proposed model includes the following: the construction of a dataset for ancient ceramic microscopic images, image preprocessing methods based on Gamma correction and CLAHE equalization algorithms, extraction of image features based on three deep learning architectures-VGG-16, Inception-v3 and GoogLeNet, and optimal fusion. This latter is based on stochastic gradient descent (SGD) algorithm, which allows optimal fitting of the fusion model parameters by freezing and unfreezing model layers.
