Achieving green development in Old Revolutionary Base Areas (ORBAs) is an urgent task to narrow the regional gap and promote high-quality development. Starting from the dual perspective of development and environment, this paper used the Multi-period DID model to assess the impacts of the National Revitalization Plan (NRP) for ORBAs on economic growth and environmental quality, as well as its transmission mechanism, and to explore whether the implementation of the plan can promote the covered areas to achieve green development. The results find that the implementation of NRP boosts the ORBAs to achieve green development. The NRP realize green development through industrial restructuring, technological progress, ecological space governance, and public service provision. The ORBAs of Jiangxi-Fujian- Guangdong, Left-Right River, and Sichuan-Shaanxi, counties situated in mountainous terrain and with higher quartile of economy and environment play a more prominent role in promoting green development. This study provides practical inspiration and theoretical reference for ORBAs to realize green development.

An easy-to-synthesize aggregation-induced emission (AIE) active Schiff base HNSA was obtained by condensing equimolar amount of 3-hydroxy-2-naphthohydrazide and salicylaldehyde. In pure DMSO, HNSA is non-fluorescent, but increasing the HEPES (HO, 10 mM, pH 7.4) fraction (f) ≥ 90% showed an intense green fluorescence with maximum fluorescence intensity at 515 nm.

Rapid Video Analysis for Contraction Synchrony of Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells-Derived Cardiac Tissues.

Tissue Eng Regen Med

January 2025

Pen-Tung Sah Institute of Micro-Nano Science and Technology, Xiamen University, Xiamen, 361102, Fujian, China.

Background: The contraction behaviors of cardiomyocytes (CMs), especially contraction synchrony, are crucial factors reflecting their maturity and response to drugs. A wider field of view helps to observe more pronounced synchrony differences, but the accompanied greater computational load, requiring more computing power or longer computational time.

Methods: We proposed a method that directly correlates variations in optical field brightness with cardiac tissue contraction status (CVB method), based on principles from physics and photometry, for rapid video analysis in wide field of view to obtain contraction parameters, such as period and contraction propagation direction and speed.

Factors influencing spatiotemporal variability of NO concentration in urban area: a GIS and remote sensing-based approach.

Environ Monit Assess

January 2025

Air Quality, Climate Change and Health (ACH) Lab, Department of Public Health and Informatics, Jahangirnagar University, 1342, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The growing global attention on urban air quality underscores the need to understand the spatiotemporal dynamics of nitrogen dioxide (NO) and its environmental and anthropogenic factors, particularly in cities like Dhaka (Gazipur), Bangladesh, which suffers from some of the world's worst air quality. This study analysed NO concentrations in Gazipur from 2019 to 2022 using Sentinel-5P TROPOMI data on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Correlations and regression analysis were done between NO levels and various environmental factors, including land surface temperature (LST), normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), land use and land cover (LULC), population density, road density, settlement density, and industry density.

Enhancing CO Oversaturation in the Confined Water Enables Superior Gas Selectivity of 2D Membranes.

J Phys Chem Lett

January 2025

Haihe Laboratory of Sustainable Chemical Transformations, Tianjin 300192, China.

Due to the global demands on carbon neutralization, CO separation membranes, particularly those based on two-dimensional (2D) materials, have attracted increasing attention. However, recent works have focused on the chemical decoration of membranes to realize the selective transport, leading to the compromised stability in the presence of moisture. Herein, we develop a series of 2D capillaries based on layered double hydroxide (LDH), graphene oxide, and vermiculite to enhance the oversaturation of CO in the confined water for promoting the membrane permselectivity.

Background: Effective pain recognition and treatment in perioperative environments reduce length of stay and decrease risk of delirium and chronic pain. We sought to develop and validate preliminary computer vision-based approaches for nociception detection in hospitalized patients.

Methods: Prospective observational cohort study using red-green-blue camera detection of perioperative patients.
