This study evaluated the effects of tea tree essential oil (TTO) on blue mold severity, volatile compound profiles, and postharvest quality of 'Fuji' apples during cold storage. Two experiments were conducted using laboratory-extracted TTO from Brazil and commercial TTO from Australia, applied by vaporization at various concentrations. Both types of TTO affected major volatile compounds, including terpinen-4-ol, γ-terpinene, and α-terpinene. The laboratory-extracted TTO had higher of 1,8-cineole, while commercial TTO had more p-cymene. TTO reduced blue mold severity up to 115 μL L (laboratory) and 99 μL L (commercial). Ethylene production decreased with laboratory-extracted TTO up to 64 μL L, while commercial TTO decreased ethylene production. Laboratory TTO increased the respiratory up to 41 μL L before declining, whereas commercial TTO continuously decreased the respiratory. Higher concentrations of laboratory TTO decreased flesh firmness and lightness.TTO types altered the apples' volatile profiles, reducing 'Fuji' apple aromas.

Introduction: Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are increasingly utilized in patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. However, the adverse ocular toxicity induced by ADCs has not been comprehensively evaluated in real-world clinical settings.

Methods: Data from April 2019 to March 2024 based on the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) were extracted and analyzed.

Article Synopsis
  • Hypertension is a major global health risk, and this study examined the safety of irbesartan, a medication used to treat it, by analyzing adverse drug events (ADEs) reported in the FDA's FAERS and Japan's JADER databases from 2004 to 2024.
  • The research revealed significant positive signals for known and new ADEs, such as hyperkalemia and acute pancreatitis, indicating serious potential health risks associated with irbesartan use.
  • Subgroup analyses showed variations in ADE occurrences based on age and gender, and further investigations confirmed key findings even when excluding other medications from the analysis.

Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Center of Respiratory Medicine, National Center for Respiratory Medicine, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing, China.

Background: Mepolizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-5, is used to treat severe eosinophilic asthma and other eosinophilia-related conditions. Given its growing use, there is a pressing need for the latest data to improve the understanding and management of its adverse events (AEs). This study aimed to investigate the safety of mepolizumab by analyzing the pharmacovigilance database of the US Food and Drug Administration.

Background: Tibial tubercle osteotomy (TTO) is a procedure that can be used as an alternative to total knee arthroplasty (TKA) or to address patellar instability in patients experiencing dislocation events. The purpose of this paper is to systematically evaluate the most cited articles pertaining to TTO through bibliometric analysis.

Methods: A search using the Web of Science database with keywords pertaining to TTO was conducted in April 2024.
