Sheep and goat influence the socioeconomic sustainability of rural communities in tropical countries, but parasitic diseases and in particular are responsible for their low productivity. The occurrence of in most affected regions of the world has been associated to the presence of stray dogs in the grazing area, which play vital roles in the life cycle of the parasite and poor disposal of contaminated and seized offal, organs, and carcasses. The aim of this paper is to systematically review the epidemiology of infection in sheep and goats in the tropics between 2010 and 2022 through the analysis of published qualitative and quantitative data on prevalence, risk factors, organ distribution, and interventions.

Chickens are renowned as a model for embryogenesis but have also been responsible for crucial advances in virology, cancer research and immunology. However, chickens are best known as a major source of animal protein for human nutrition, with roughly 80 billion chickens alive each year supplying meat and eggs, the vast majority part of a global poultry industry. As a result, avian immunology been studied intensively for over 60 years, and it has become clear that a major genetic locus in chickens determining resistance to infectious disease and response to vaccines is the major histocompatibility complex (MHC).

The study aimed to assess the high-pressure processing (HPP) impact on antibiotic resistance gene transfer in from food and food processing environments, both in vitro (in microbiological medium) and in situ (in carrot juice), using the membrane filter method. Survival, recovery, and frequency of antibiotic resistance gene transfer analyses were performed by treating samples with HPP at different pressures (200 MPa and 400 MPa). The results showed that the higher pressure (400 MPa) had a significant effect on increasing the transfer frequency of genes such as , encoding fosfomycin resistance, and , , , responsible for tetracycline resistance, both in vitro and in situ.
