Influential models hold that neurons in the cerebral cortex signal the difference between actual and expected inputs. A new study instead finds that cortical prediction errors reflect not subtraction but rather stimulus-specific amplification of unexpected inputs.

Diagnostic criteria for adult-onset Still disease, systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Behçet disease (BD), familial Mediterranean fever (FMF), cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome (CAPS), and SAPHO (synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis) syndrome and chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis (SAPHO-CNO) were reviewed for each patient.

Background: The RTK-VEGF4 receptor family, which includes VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3, plays a crucial role in tissue regeneration by promoting angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, and recruiting stem cells and immune cells. Machine learning, particularly graph neural networks (GNNs), has shown high accuracy in predicting these interactions.
