Intracranial infections post-neurosurgical procedure pose substantial morbidity and mortality risks. , an opportunistic gram-negative pathogen, represents a real challenge because of limited clinical experience. This article details the second reported case of intracranial infection associated with external ventricular drains in an immunocompetent adult. Treatment involved a 21-day course of intravenous antibiotherapy using meropenem and vancomycin.
