Several salts of cubane-1,4-dimethylnitrocarbamate (CMNC) were synthesized. The divalent CMNC is deprotonated by alkaline, alkaline earth metal, and nonmetal bases to form the corresponding salts. The compounds were characterized and analyzed by multinuclear NMR and IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, single crystal X-ray, and thermoanalytical techniques. The energies of formation for the salts were calculated using Gaussian. Detonation performances were calculated with the Explo5 (V6.03) computer code. The sensitivities toward impact and friction were determined and compared to the neutral CMNC.

Proteomic analysis of Trichoderma harzianum secretome and their role in the biosynthesis of zinc/iron oxide nanoparticles.

The fungal green synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) has gained great interest since it is a cost-effective and easy handling method. The process is simple because fungi secrete metabolites and proteins capable of reducing metal salts in aqueous solution, however the mechanism remains largely unknown. The aim of this study was to analyze the secretome of a Trichoderma harzianum strain during the mycobiosynthesis process of zinc and iron nanoparticles.

Developing efficient strategies for the deoxygenative functionalization of carbonyl compounds is crucial for enhancing the effective utilization of biomass and the upgrading of chemical feedstocks. In this study, we present an elegant cathodic reduction strategy that enables a tandem alkylation/dearomatization reaction between quinoline derivatives and aryl aldehydes/ketones in a one-pot process. Our approach can be executed via two distinct paths: the aluminum (Al)-facilitated spin-center shift (SCS) path and the Al-facilitated direct deoxygenation path.

α-Terpineol and 1,8-cineole are two important compounds in essential oils. This study developed an efficient method to recover α-terpineol from model oil (MO) based on association extraction by in situ formations of deep eutectic solvent (DES) between α-terpineol and some quaternary ammonium salts (QASs) by hydrogen-bond (HB) interaction. Such interaction could be broken almost completely by the introduction of water, due to the stronger HB interaction between water and QASs, which could release α-terpineol by liquid-liquid separation and save the organic solvents consumption.

From solubility to efficiency: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) regeneration from anion exchange resins.

Sci Total Environ

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA 19122, USA. Electronic address:

This study investigated the regenerability of anion exchange resins for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), focusing on the interaction between regenerant composition and resin characteristics. The influence of salt type and concentration on PFAS solubility revealed a general decline in perfluorohexane sulfonate (PFHxS) solubility with increased salt concentrations, most strongly with KCl followed by NaCl and NHCl. Mixed solubility results were observed for perfluorooctanoate (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS).
