This article presents a cascade equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) estimator to handle the control problem of disturbance rejection in the presence of measurement noise. The standard EID estimator faces a challenge when the output of a system suffers from high-frequency noise, i.e., the estimator tuned to achieve high disturbance-rejection performance is usually extremely sensitive to measurement noise. A new estimator is developed in this study to address the issue by combining EID estimators in a unique cascade form. The sensitivity reduction of a cascade EID (CEID) estimator with p levels, which is related to disturbance rejection, is p times larger than that of a standard EID estimator at low frequencies. Meanwhile, the Bode magnitude curve of the transfer function related to noise suppression is shifted up only by 20lgp dB at high frequencies compared to that of a standard one. This improves disturbance-rejection performance and prevents measurement noise from being over-amplified. The design of a CEID estimator-based control system is provided and the stability criterion of the system is derived. The validity and superiority of the presented method are demonstrated by a deep analysis and simulation and experimental results.

This study proposes an enhanced Smith Predictor (ESP) based Modified repetitive control (MRC) technique to develop a precise tracking performance of the input delayed double boost converter model, which is highly influenced by disturbances and saturation nonlinearity. A group of inequalities is derived on the basis of Lyapunov stability concept, which are in the form of linear-matrix-inequalities (LMIs) to guarantee the asymptotic stability and tracking performance of the considered delayed double boost converter. To be more specific, the proposed Lyapunov method not only provides the asymptotic stability of the system but also design the controller parameters when the feasibility of the derived LMIs are analyzed.

The ARCR_Pred study was initiated to document and predict the safety and effectiveness of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) in a representative Swiss patient cohort. Multiband (MB) optical transmission targets increasing the capacity of operators' optical transport networks. However, nonlinear impairments (NLI) affect each optical channel in the C+L+S bands differently, and, therefore, the routing and spectrum assignment (RSA) problem needs to be complemented with fast and accurate tools to consider the quality of transmission (QoT) within the provisioning process. This paper proposes a digital twin-assisted approach for lightpath provisioning to provide a complete solution for the RSA problem that ensures the required QoT in MB optical networks.
