Research suggests childhood sexual abuse (CSA) has an impact on survivor's sexual fantasies; however, empirical research is inconclusive. As sexual fantasies play a crucial role in sexual well-being, more exploration of sexual fantasies in CSA survivors and non-victims is needed. An online survey-based content analysis was conducted on fantasies reported by CSA survivors ( = 48) and non-victims ( = 44). Results unveiled nine fantasy categories reported by both groups. An additional category, , was reported solely by survivors. These findings highlight the diverse fantasy content experienced by survivors, prompting a reconsideration of theories suggesting a linear relationship between CSA and the development of sadomasochistic or violent fantasies in adulthood.

There is some evidence that testosterone-lowering medications (TLM) may be an effective treatment for men convicted of sexual offenses by attenuating paraphilic sexual fantasies and behaviors and reducing the recidivism risk. To date, however, only little is known about the effects of TLM stopping on risk-relevant aspects. Therefore, the current study aimed at examining the recidivism risk as measured by Stable-2007 as well as official records of reoffenses in 29 men having stopped TLM treatment as compared to 37 men with ongoing TLM treatment.

Therefore, symptom and quality of life (QoL) questionnaires, briefly identified as patient-reported outcomes (PROs), have been developed. Despite the large number of questionnaires available for the assessment of PFDs and QoL-related issues in English, few of them have been validated for the Italian language.
