Purpose: This study investigates the potential association between commonly prescribed psychotropic medications, such as Atypical Antipsychotics (AAs), Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), and Serotonin Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRIs), and congenital anomalies in newborns. The analysis uses data from the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS).
Methods: Spontaneously reported cases of congenital anomalies in newborns (under 28 days old) were extracted from the FAERS database, covering January 2004 to June 2023.

A 62-year-old man was referred to our hospital presenting with a sore throat, dyspnea, and cervical swelling. Initial precontrast CT scans revealed a cervical and mediastinal hematoma, along with a hemothorax. Further dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scans indicated contrast media extravasation dorsal to the right thyroid gland lobe, suggesting a rupture of the right inferior thyroid artery or a parathyroid adenoma.

Burkitt lymphoma has a high proliferation rate and a significant risk of tumor lysis syndrome. Risk stratification and early identification are imperative since it is an oncological emergency. We report the case of a 20-year-old woman, without relevant past medical history, admitted to the Emergency Department with a three-week history of fatigue, chest discomfort, productive cough, night sweats, myalgia, odynophagia, and holocranial headache.

Extralobar pulmonary sequestration (EPS) in the mediastinum is rare, and preoperative diagnosis can be challenging. We report a case of EPS in the middle mediastinum, where a congenital pericardial defect became apparent on computed tomography (CT) imaging as pneumopericardium concurrent with spontaneous pneumothorax. The patient presented with a left spontaneous pneumothorax.

Spontaneous pneumomediastinum is an infrequent condition typically secondary to smoking, illicit drug use, or asthma. The condition often follows barotrauma or bronchial hyperactivity, causing alveolar destruction and air trapping within the mediastinum. Rarely, it may present following strenuous exercise, particularly in tall, thin males, resembling the presentation of pneumothorax.
