Influenza virus infections are a serious danger to people's health worldwide as they are responsible for seasonal flu outbreaks. There is an urgent need to improve the effectiveness and durability longevity of the immune response to influenza vaccines. We synthesized the CpG HP021 and examined the impact of it on the immune response to an influenza vaccine.

Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a rare human autoinflammatory disorder with life-threatening systemic effects. Keratinocyte-derived interleukin (IL)-36 signaling has been identified as a key mediator of immune response in the skin of affected individuals. Recognition of various mutations along the IL-36 axis and the downstream nuclear transcription factor κB (NF-κB) signaling have established GPP as genetically, immunologically, and histopathologically distinct and amenable to immunomodulation, which is epitomized by the recent success of IL-36 antagonism.

Electronic address:

CyHV-2 is the pathogen of herpesvirus haematopoietic necrosis (HVHN), resulting in significant economic losses in crucian carp. Although multiple oral vaccines have been developed to prevent CyHV-2, they have not achieved ideal protective effects. To improve the protective effect of oral vaccine, a combination vaccine was conducted by mixing recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae displaying ORF132 or ORF25 on the cell surface in a 1:1 ratio.

Department of Urology, Institute of Urology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610041, China. Electronic address:

In recent years, cancer immunotherapy has received widespread attention due to significant tumor clearance in some malignancies. Various immunotherapy approaches, including vaccines, immune checkpoint inhibitors, oncolytic virotherapy, bispecific T cell engagers, and adoptive T cell transfer, have completed or are undergoing clinical trials for prostate cancer. Despite immune checkpoint blockade's extraordinary effectiveness in treating a variety of cancers, targeted prostate cancer treatment using the immune system is still in its infancy.

Thermosensitive hydrogel delivery of BCG lysates and tumor antigens: A novel strategy for melanoma immunoprevention and therapeutics.

Biochem Biophys Res Commun

December 2024

Department of Biotherapy, Cancer Center and State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, 610041, China. Electronic address:

Melanoma, recognized as one of the most aggressive forms of skin cancer, continues to show a steady rise in global incidence. While Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) has been identified as a potential intralesional therapy for melanoma, its therapeutic efficacy remains suboptimal. This study introduces a novel thermosensitive hydrogel formulated with BCG lysates and either OVA peptide or tumor cell lysates (PPP-BCG-OVA/TL).
