Disclosure of the key events in tumor progress will help us deepen the understanding of tumorigenesis. Here, we present a protocol for multi-regional tissue capture of malignant continuum. We describe steps for preparing tissue sections, laser capture microdissection, and whole-genome library preparation, which enable the concurrent analysis of potential driver events in precancer initiation. This protocol overcomes challenges posed by limited DNA quantity and preserves the spatial information of the target regions. For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Li et al., Chang et al., and Chen et al..

We developed a versatile 'IHC/LCM-Seq' method for spatial transcriptomics of immunohistochemically detected neurons collected with laser-capture microdissection (LCM). IHC/LCM-Seq uses aluminon and polyvinyl sulfonic acid for inventive RNA-preserving strategies to maintain RNA integrity in free-floating sections of 4% formaldehyde-fixed brains. To validate IHC/LCM-Seq, we first immunostained and harvested striatal cholinergic interneurons with LCM.

Shock is defined as a critical circulatory failure that requires prompt diagnosis to optimize patient outcomes. Traditional diagnostic methods have limitations, including contact-based measurements, high costs, and lengthy procedures. The study evaluated the efficacy of laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI), a noncontact technique, for assessing peripheral hemodynamics in shock patients.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a significant global health challenge, necessitating advanced predictive models to support clinical decision-making. In this study, we explore multi-label classification as a novel approach to predict antibiotic resistance across four clinically relevant bacteria: E. coli, S.

Carbapenem-resistant (CRE) is an emerging global concern. Specifically, carbapenemase-producing (CP) strains in CRE have recently been found in clinical, environmental, and food samples worldwide, causing many hospitalizations and deaths. Their rapid identification and characterization are paramount in control, management options, and treatment choices.

During the pandemic, client-facing workers were perceived to be at greater risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This study investigated the risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 infection among a cohort of 304 retail workers in the Quebec City metropolitan area. After providing consent, participants were interviewed to gather information on demographic, socioeconomic, behavioural, and occupational variables.
