Purpose: Genomic sequencing of newborns (NBSeq) can initiate disease surveillance and therapy for children, and may identify at-risk relatives through reverse cascade testing. We explored genetic risk communication and reverse cascade testing among families of newborns who underwent exome sequencing and had a risk for autosomal dominant disease identified.
Methods: We conducted semi-structured interviews with parents of newborns enrolled in the BabySeq Project who had a pathogenic or likely-pathogenic (P/LP) variant associated with an autosomal dominant (AD) childhood- and/or adult-onset disease returned.

Background: Globally, there has been an explosive rise in the cesarean section rate that exceeds the World Health Organization rate of 10-15% and in the past fifteen years the rates was doubled in some countries including Ethiopia. Therefore, it is essential to recognize the current magnitude and the factors that contribute to increasing cesarean section rates beyond the World Health Organization recommendations and specifically in the study areas.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the magnitude of cesarean sections and its associated factors among mothers who gave birth in public hospitals in East Wollega Zone, Oromia Ethiopia 2022.

Previous studies have reported inconsistent findings regarding paternal addiction to cigarettes, alcohol, and opium with psychological distress in youths. This study examined the association between paternal addiction to cigarettes, alcohol, and opium and the psychological distress of youths in southeast Iran. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 895 youths (aged 15-35) from the baseline phase of the Rafsanjan Youth Cohort Study (RYCS) whose fathers also participated in the Rafsanjan Cohort Study (RCS).

Delays in development that occur during early childhood can have long-lasting consequences, potentially leading to poor academic achievement. Research has shown that the human immunodeficiency virus can have neurotropic effects, which may impact the development of the brain in infected children. However, there is a scarcity of evidence regarding developmental delays among children with human immunodeficiency virus in the study area.
