This study presents a comprehensive revision of the genus Heinrich, 1967. We describe a new species, Dal Pos & Di Giovanni, , from Burundi, marking the first documented occurrence of an Ichneumoninae species in the country. Additionally, we provide the first diagnostic description of the female Heinrich, 1967 and report a new occurrence of this species in KwaZulu-Natal. Furthermore, we document for Mpumalanga (South Africa) and Heinrich, 1967 in Uganda, thereby extending the known range of the latter into East Africa. A detailed catalogue of all species within the genus is also included.

Purpose: The ramp aftereffect, a visual phenomenon in which perception of light changes dynamically after exposure to sawtooth-modulated light, was first described in 1967. Despite decades of psychophysical research, location and mechanisms of its generation remain unknown. In this study, we investigated a potential retinal contribution to effect formation with specific emphasis on on-/off-pathway involvement.

In this study, we report the isolation of two new meroterpenoids, miniolutelide D () and miniolutelide E (13--miniolutelide C) (), along with two meroterpenoidal analogues ( and ) and two phenolic compounds ( and ) from the endophytic fungus derived from fruits. Their structures were elucidated using extensive MS, 1D, and 2D NMR spectroscopic analyses as well as by comparing with data in the literature. The absolute configurations of and were determined using TDDFT-ECD calculations.

In-depth chemical investigation of an ethyl acetate extract of sp. isolated from the soft coral species resulted in the isolation of one new meroterpenoid, austalide Z (1), one known austalide W (2), six known prenylated indole diketopiperazine alkaloids (3-8), and phthalic acid and its ethyl derivative (9-10). The structures were established by means of 1D and 2D NMR (one- and two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance) experiments supported by UV analysis and ESI-MS (electrospray ionization mass spectrometry).
