Brain Defense of Glycemia in Health and Diabetes.

The brain coordinates the homeostatic defense of multiple metabolic variables, including blood glucose levels, in the context of ever-changing external and internal environments. The biologically defended level of glycemia (BDLG) is the net result of brain modulation of insulin-dependent mechanisms in cooperation with the islet, and insulin-independent mechanisms through direct innervation and neuroendocrine control of glucose effector tissues. In this article, we highlight evidence from animal and human studies to develop a framework for the brain's core homeostatic functions-sensory/afferent, integration/processing, and motor/efferent-that contribute to the normal BDLG in health and its elevation in diabetes.

Obesity, as a global health crisis, is increasingly linked to intestinal microecology. Probiotics colonise the body, effectively regulating the balance of intestinal flora, while strengthening the intestinal barrier, activating the immune response, releasing beneficial substances, and maintaining micro-ecological balance. This process not only enhances the defence against pathogens, but also reduces the production of inflammatory factors and lowers the level of chronic inflammation.

The toxicity of senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles is associated with changes in the clearance of tau and beta-amyloid proteins, which are closely related to inflammatory imbalances. Pro-inflammatory cytokines are present in abnormal details due to the overactivation of immunological pathways, especially toll-like receptors.
