Shoulder dislocations are common, with luxatio erecta humeri (LEH) being a rare variant. This report discusses a case of isolated transitory radial nerve palsy following LEH, which occurred after a high-energy motorcycle accident. Neurological examination revealed radial nerve involvement. Following reduction of the dislocation and appropriate physiotherapy, the patient experienced full functional recovery. This case underscores the rarity of isolated radial nerve palsy in LEH and highlights the importance of thorough neurological assessment in such injuries.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to report a timeframe for neurologic recovery of complete radial nerve palsies in patients with humeral shaft fractures treated with internal fixation.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of patients who underwent surgical treatment of a humeral shaft fracture between 2016 and 2021 at a level I trauma center. Patients with complete sensory and motor radial nerve palsy were identified.

The mammalian olfactory system is responsible for processing environmental chemical stimuli and comprises several structures, including the olfactory epithelium, olfactory bulb, olfactory peduncle (OP), and olfactory cortices. Despite the critical role played by the OP in the conduction of olfactory information, it has remained understudied. In this work, optical, confocal, and electron microscopy were employed to examine the anatomy, histology, and ultrastructure of six human OP specimens (ages 37-84 years).

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of a novel retrograde ultrasound-guided A1 pulley release technique for the treatment of trigger thumb. We conducted a retrospective, single-center study of 42 patients who underwent ultrasound-guided A1 pulley release for clinically diagnosed trigger thumb between September 2022 and December 2023. All cases were graded according to the Green classification of trigger finger severity.

Recent studies in vertebrates and Caenorhabditis elegans have reshaped models of how the axon guidance cue UNC-6/Netrin functions in dorsal-ventral axon guidance, which was traditionally thought to form a ventral-to-dorsal concentration gradient that was actively sensed by growing axons. In the vertebrate spinal cord, floorplate Netrin1 was shown to be largely dispensable for ventral commissural growth. Rather, short range interactions with Netrin1 on the ventricular zone radial glial stem cells was shown to guide ventral commissural axon growth.

Background: The excision of oropharyngeal carcinoma of more than 50% of the soft palate followed by static reconstruction may result in functional deficits, including velopharyngeal insufficiency, swallowing, and speech difficulties. We describe a functional soft palate reconstruction technique aimed at restoring aeromechanical and acoustic functions, enabling swallowing without nasal regurgitation and speech with low nasalance.
Material And Methods: We developed a new operative technique, using muscle transfer and a free flap to create a dynamic reconstruction.
